Be prepared to get your Ron Swanson Dance on: the new Daft Punk album has a name and release date.
Daft Punk’s followup to 2005′s Human After All is titled Random Access Memories and will be released through Columbia Records imprint Daft Life Limited. According to iTunes [which is already accepting pre-orders], the album comprises 13 tracks, though specific track titles have yet to be revealed. (Via)
In an interview with Into the Mix, Nile Rodgers, who is rumored to be the guitarist in the 15-second teaser that premiered during SNL a few weeks ago, says the album “is smoking.” He added:
“The best words for the process: 100-percent organic,” he explained about working with Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. “It was from the heart, it was like it was meant to be. It was a perfect collaboration, and I bet that’s what they are going to say. It was like we belonged together. We met in the middle; ‘collaboration’ is the perfect word. We’d met years ago when they had a listening party in New York for their second album, and we got together for a chat. It’s something we’ve talked about for a long time. We’ve respected each other endlessly. It’s a close relationship that’s a lot deeper than just music: respect, admiration, friendships just separated by one degree.” (Via)
Take it away, Ron.
