Daft Punk, the best duo to come out of France since Brigitte Bardot and Brigitte Bardot’s teeth, announced yesterday, via Consequence of Sound, that they signed to Columbia Records and will release a much-anticipated new album in spring 2013, their first since 2005′s Human After All, soundtracks to Disney movies notwithstanding.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daft Punk has signed with Columbia Records for the release of their upcoming fourth studio album. What’s more, French newspaper Le Parisien reports that the as-yet-titled album is slated for a Spring 2013 release.
A number of musicians have reportedly contributed to the new album, including Chic frontman Nile Rodgers, songwriter Paul Williams, Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, Feist collaborator Chilly Gonzales, and disco legend Giorgio Moroder. (Via)
