Anybody up for a little Jay Z mixed in their Daft Punk?
The origins of “Computerized” are tough to pin down. eskay shared it earlier today and the backstory’s a bit hazy to say the least. Apparently, the song made the rounds over the weekend and there’s a Reddit thread dedicated to its authenticity.
Reportedly produced by Kanye and reportedly left off of Random Access Memories, but it could very well be a mash-up cooked up by a kook. Emphasis on reportedly because I don’t want to incur the wrath of the Internet if this is the Jimmy Kimmel of mp3s. Whatever the case, “Computerized” is definitely dated if you count Jigga’s mention of his BlackBerry but I agree with eskay in that I haven’t heard the rhymes prior to now. That’s about all the thinking I have available for the song because it’s way too Monday for anything more.
Worth a listen because why not? It’s free, ain’t it? All anyone’s spending is time.
Updated: The song’s legit, but it wasn’t produced by Kanye, according to Pitchfork.
