T.I. and Pharrell’s “Paperwork” could be a long, lost song from the Harlem Nights soundtrack.
Ran by Sugar Ray (Richard Pryor) and Quick (Eddie Murphy), during the heyday of “Club Sugar Ray,” Tip and Skateboard P would’ve fit right in amongst the movers and shakers of Harlem’s major players. “Paperwork” is a soulful single finding P handling hook and production duties while Clifford recounts tales of yesteryear in the same traps of Atlanta he brought to millions of living rooms worldwide.
While it’s difficult to tell if T.I.’s forthcoming album titled track will ever spawn into a single, it is another solid offering into an album that could surprise a lot of people – “All About The Money” with Young Thug is one of 2014’s best songs without question. Paperwork is slated to be released Oct. 21 and is up for pre-order here.
Sticking with P for a moment, the most recognizable Neptune also dropped off his new visual for “Gust of Wind,” directed by famed film director Edgar Wright (Shaun Of The Dead, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World). “Gust” can be found on this year’s certified-gold LP, G I R L. The song’s featured artists, Daft Punk, do a funny, makeshift appearance in the video in a way that only they can pull off.
